Dedicated to Astoria
The angels have gained a beautiful friend
Those final stairs she has had to ascend
That beautiful soul will be so sadly missed
So many of us she cyber hugged and kissed
With sorrow and tears we will respectfully mourn
Leaving our community feeling so forlorn
When time has had chance to help us heal
We’ll remember the happiness she made us feel
Astoria now you can rest in eternal peace
Our memories of your love will never cease

Teenagers
What is it about later teenage years
Is it cleanliness and tidiness they fear
I’ve done all my household chores
Cleaning, tidying and hoovered the floor
I venture out to buy some stuff
Finally I’ve bought quite enough
Arriving home thinking everything’s fine
Open the door, who’s let off the mine
House looks a complete and utter mess
Daughter’s home in a state of undress
She’s here to have a decent shower
Doesn’t even have the decency to cower
The look on my face should’ve said it all
My hands fisted up in a tight ball
I’m sure she would soon really fume
If I went and interfered in her room
So I am now having to start again
Shouting my feelings I will refrain
I’ll just get on with the tasks at hand
Inconsideration should really be banned

Oh what a magnificent fairy tree
The most wonderful I ever did see
The large welcoming front door
A friendly face will answer I’m sure
To live in such a natural place
With it’s own majestic grace
Must be such a heavenly delight
To live in such a home that is so right
No danger to the environment
A home that Mother Nature sent
What a lovely home for a fairy
I wonder if it’s oak, elm or cherry

In The Forest
Standing in the middle of Savernake Forest
In Jeans and T-shirt I was dressed
Visiting the magnificently imposing trees
There for a picnic and to run free
In my wanderings and looking around
Listening to all the nature’s sounds
There I spied just by lucky chance
Came suddenly to a frozen stance
I thought they were just in fantasy books
Mythical creatures with graceful looks
But there right by the side of me
There was a fairy ring for all to see
My Auntie said to make sure it’s real
You have to place in it a posy with grass seal
I gathered up one of each different wild flower
A blade of grass wrapped round it for power
I placed it in the middle of the ring
A hopeful wish I decided to sing
Then I went off to continue to play
Knowing I would come back this way
Time to go home came all too soon
So car - ward bound all singing a tune
When I got to that special place
There was amazement on my face
The Posy I had placed right here
Had heart stoppingly disappeared
So there are definitely Fairies in this place
And you can’t wipe this smile off my face
