The final time we close our eyes
Hopefully able to say our goodbyes
A gentle climb up heaven’s stairs
Leaving behind all worldly cares

Our families will shed their tears
Looking back over the years
Hopefully though in a while
The memories of us will make them smile

We will always be in their heart
Even though for a time we are apart
Our new role will come with wings
So now to rejoice and see what it brings

A guardian angel we could be
Or run around heaven with glee
But in time we will reunite
With our families in the light
